India trying to mislead world on Kashmir situation: Pakistan

India is trying to present a false and misleading narrative on the situation in Kashmir by taking foreign diplomats on a tour of the Valley, Pakistan said on Monday.

Dawn News quoted Foriegn Office spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri, commenting on a trip being arranged for diplomats based in New Delhi, said it was a part of India’s “efforts to mislead the world community”.

India has taken a group of diplomats from European and Gulf countries to Jammu and Kashmir on February 17 and 18.

The visit follows the restoration of 4G internet services in Kashmir after an 18-month-long ban, after India abrogated Article 370 which granted Kashmir autonomy.

Reports said, a series of bunkers were removed from various parts of Srinagar city ahead of the visit of European Union delegation.

Meanwhile, a local news gathering agency, Kashmir News Trust reported that the City Centre Lal Chowk is shut on the arrival of envoys.
