Srinagar: In the last 24 hours, Jammu and Kashmir witnessed 1,144 COVID cases pushing the number of active cases near 10,620 which otherwise were less than 600 around a month before.
Two more deaths were reported in JK in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 2,048 and active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 1,144 fresh positive cases reported on Friday pushed the tally of positive cases to 1,44,021.
Of the exact number of 144,021 cases, 86,4877 are from Kashmir and 57,534 from the Jammu division. Among the the1,144 new cases, 730 belong to the Kashmir division while 414 are from the Jammu division.
The total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 86,487 including 78,701 recoveries and 1,289 deaths while as the total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached 57,524 including 52,652 recoveries and 759 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 10,620 including 6,497 from Kashmir division and 4,123 from Jammu division.
With 562 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 1,31,353 which is 91.20 per cent of the total cases.
As per the daily information bulletin, 1,650,559 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 69,214 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,0620 persons are in isolation.
