JK records 30 COVID deaths, 3,023 infections in 24 hours

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday reported 30 deaths, the highest ever since pandemic, and 3,023 new positive cases were also reported pushing the number of active cases to 24,313 which otherwise were less than 600 around a month before.

With 30 more deaths, the death has reached 2,227 and the active cases continue to increase and the recovery rate decreases with each passing day. 3,023 fresh positive cases reported on Wednesday pushed the tally of positive cases to 169,077.

Of the exact number of 169,077 cases, 101,749 are from Kashmir and 67,328 from the Jammu division. Among 3,023 new cases, 2,034 belong to Kashmir division while 989 are from Jammu division. The total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached 101,749 including 85,582 recoveries and 1,372 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached 67,328 including 56,955 recoveries and 855 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 24,313 including 14,795 from Kashmir division and 9,518 from Jammu division.

With 963 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 142,537 which is 84.30 percent of the total cases.

As per the daily information bulletin, 1,784,112 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 93,728 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 24,313 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 1,542,366 persons have completed surveillance period and 121,478 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 7,172,458 samples are available. Out of 7,172,458 the number of samples tested negative stands at 7,003,381 while 169,077 have tested positive, among them 24,313 persons are active, 142,537 persons have recovered and 2,227 persons have died.
