460 COVID violators fined, 41 FIRs registered, 92 arrested across Kashmir

Srinagar: Since the outbreak of the 2nd wave of Coronavirus, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has enhanced their efforts to sensitize the masses about controlling the highly contagious Coronavirus. A slew of measures including restrictions u/s 144 have been put into place to contain the spread of COVID.

In view of the record surge in daily cases across the Kashmir Valley, Police also enhanced the efforts to implement the guidelines/SOPs/restrictions strictly throughout the valley. During the last 24hrs, Police has arrested 92 persons, lodged 41 FIRs and also realized fine to the tune of Rs 76,090/- from 460 people for violating the guidelines/rules throughout Kashmir valley.

The special drive against the violators of COVID  guidelines/rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir Valley to ensure that people adhere to SOPs/ guidelines envisaged by the administration to curb COVID pandemic.

Community members are once again requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of Coronavirus by following the SOPs/ guidelines/ protocols for the safety of the people. The special drive shall remain continue throughout the districts of Kashmir Valley to strengthen the safety measures, police said.
