Srinagar: A military operation against militants has started in Wagoora area of Nowgam in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Wednesday.

Official sources said that a joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force launched a cordon and search operation in Wagoora Nowgam following inputs about the presence of militants.
As the joint team of armed forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering the operation, they said.
In a tweet on Kashmir Zone Police handle, police also confirm the presence of two militants who are believed to be trapped, adding the exchange of fire between militants and armed forces personnel is going on.
