Militants killed in military operation in Anantnag locals from LeT outfit: IGP Kashmir

Anantnag: Three unidentified militants have been killed in a military operation in Kawarigam village of Achabal hamlet in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday and all the three are locals belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit, police said.

IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 19 RR, and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area in the afternoon.

He said that as the joint team of armed forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering the operation.

In the ensuing operation, three unidentified militants have been killed while the search operation is going on in the area. ” All three are locals and they were affiliated with LeT outfit,” the IGP said.
