Pulwama: A military operation against militants has started in main town area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.

Reports said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the main town following the inputs about the presence of militants.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering the operation.
A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of firing between militants and armed forces.
