Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharie Shian president on Sunday termed the JK administration’s recent decision on Muharram “with non-entities” droll and chucklesome.

In a statement, Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi said that organizations having a century-old legacy of organizing Muharram processions were kept under “dark” and some random design is being planned with “non-entities”.

The statement added that such attempts can’t delegitimize the century-old organizations.

He questioned that where were these non-entities groups when azadars were showered pellets and tear gas while resisting an “illogical” ban on Ashura procession; today they are giving opinions about the same.

Aga Hassan further said Ashura procession, Milad rally in Lal Chowk, and Friday congregations at Jamia masjid are identical and restrictions on them should be lifted once for all.

Denying the route proposed by the administration for the procession, Aga Hassan said that there is only one route and that is Abi-Guzar to Ali Park, Zadibal and there is no other route nor do we accept any deviation from traditional routes.
