Army installs 100-feet tall Indian national flag in Gulmarg

Srinagar: In an Indian army organized event, a 100 feet tall Indian national flag was installed in north Kashmir’s Gulmarg on Tuesday.

The event was presided over by Lt General Y K Joshi, Army Commander Northern Command.

The Lt General honored the relatives/family members of armed forces personnel who lost their lives in the militancy-related incidents.

“The army Commander also felicitated certain members of civil society who have contributed immensely towards the nation-building through various endeavors,” reads an army statement.

“Set amidst beautiful and salubrious surroundings of Gulmarg, the monument added to the tourist attraction of the location,” the statement said.

The army commander said that the flag was installed as a tribute to the countless Kashmiris who have made the “ultimate sacrifice while safeguarding the unity and integrity of the nation”.

DIG North Kashmir Sujeet Kumar, ADDC Baramulla Ahsaan Mir, SDM Gulmarg Sameer Jan, SDPO Gulmarg Hilal Khaliq, SHO Gulmarg Aarif Ahmad civil, Police, and army officials were also present on the occasion.
