Voice call, broadband services to be restored in Kashmir tonight, says police

Voice call services and all broadband connections to be restored in Kashmir after more than 40 hours of communication blockade, said Kashmir police chief.

After Syed Ali Shah Geelani succumbed to prolonged illness on Wednesday night, the administration has rushed to shut down communications and imposed strict restrictions on the public movement.

“So far situation remained peaceful & under control. Thanks for public’s cooperation in maintaining law & order,” Kashmir Zone Police’s official Twitter handle quote Vijay Kumar as saying.

“Mobile service (voice call) and broadband of all TSPs shall open from today evening at 10pm.”
