Shopian: A military operation has started between armed forces personnels and militants in Tulran area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district, police officials said on Monday.
Quoting an official, the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reported that a joint of team of police, Army’s 34 Rashtrya Rifles, and CRPF’s 178 battalion after receiving information about the presence of militants launched military operation in the area.
KNO reported that the exchange of fire is on in the area and two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
It is pertinent to mention here that it is the fourth military operation in Jammu and Kashmir to commence in less than 24 hours.
Two alleged militants were killed in Anantnag and Bandipora earlier on Monday while as 4 armed forces personnel were killed in a military operation in the forests of Poonch.
