COVID: JK reports 2 deaths, 174 infections in last 24 hours

Srinagar: In the last 24 hours, Jammu and Kashmir reported two COVID related deaths and 174 infections taking the number of total active cases in JK to 1,684.

With two more deaths, the death toll in the UT stands at 4,466 and 174 fresh cases reported on Wednesday have pushed the tally of positive cases to 335881.

Of the exact number of 3357881 cases, 211017 are from Kashmir and 1,24,864 from the Jammu division.

Officials said that among 174 cases, 149 belong to Kashmir division while as 25 are from Jammu, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached 211017 including 207298 recoveries and 2,282 deaths while as a total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 1,24,864 including 122433 recoveries and 2,184 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1,684 including 1,437 from Kashmir division and 247 from Jammu division.

With 135 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 329731 which is 98.17 percent of the total cases.

Meanwhile, authorities on Wednesday said that no fresh cases of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and tally stands at 49.

As per the daily information bulletin, 4330587 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 6016 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1,684 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 3885528 persons have completed the surveillance period and 432893 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 17327416 samples are available.
