3 Pakistani militants killed in 33 days in Srinagar, says IGP

Srinagar: Three Pakistani militants have been killed in separate military operations in central Kashmir’s Srinagar in the 33 days, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar said on Sunday.

In a tweet, he said, “03 Pakistani militants killed in Srinagar city within 33 days. They were involved in several crimes including attacks on Police/SFs and civilian killings. It shows that Pakistan is hell-bent to disturb peace in Valley especially in Srinagar City.”

Earlier, police said that a top militant commander Saifulla Alais Abu Khalid of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was killed in a military operation in Dhara Harwan area of Srinagar.

A resident of Karachi Pakistan, Khalid was active since 2016 and was active in Harwan-Dhara belt, the IGP said.

The slain was killed after a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Harwan following information about the presence of militants in the area, police had said.
