Anantnag: A military operation against militants has started in Mirhama area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district, police said on Wednesday evening.

An official said that a joint team of police, Army and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched a search operation in the area.
He said that as the joint team of armed forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering the operation.
He said that the exchange of fire is on in the area and two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
Pertinently, this is the second military operation in south Kashmir on Wednesday as the operation is going on in Shahabad Dooru area of Anantnag.
