Anantnag: Three militants have been killed in a military operation in Nowgam area of Shahabad Dooru village in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said on Thursday.

A police official said that three unidentified militants have been killed in the operation. However, the identification of the slain is yet to be ascertained.
Earlier, the operation, according to police, began after a joint team of police, Army, and CRPF received information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint team of armed forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering the operation.
