13 doctors, 24 armed forces personnel among 1,148 COVID cases reported in 24 hours in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday reported 1,148 coronavirus cases, 442 more than the previous day’s tally, while two persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said.

They said that 640 of the cases were reported from Jammu and 508 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 3,46,506. Among others, the fresh cases include 13 doctors and 24 armed forces personnel.

Giving district-wise details, officials said that Srinagar reported 256 cases, Baramulla 94, Budgam 59, Pulwama 12, Kupwara 30, Anantnag 18, Bandipora 19, Ganderbal 5, Kulgam 13, Shopian 2, Jammu 301,  Udhampur 77, Rajouri 29, Doda 10, Kathua 64, Samba 26, Kishtwar 4, Poonch 45, Ramban 12 and Reasi 71.

There were two deaths, both from Jammu division, due to the virus during the last 24 hours, they said. So far, 4546 persons—2211 in Jammu and 2335 in Kashmir—have died due to the virus, they said.

In the last 24 hours, they said, 360 patients—245 from Jammu and 115 from Kashmir recovered. So far, 3,37,150 have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 4,810—2,676 in Jammu and 2,134 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far, 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in JK, the officials said.

They also informed that 90634 doses of COVID vaccine were administered during the time in Jammu and Kashmir.
