Delay in restoration of damaged infra in JK higher Edu Dept due to poor execution of work: CAG

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department has said that the delay in completion for permanent restoration of damaged infrastructure in the department was due to poor execution of work by the contractors, reveals a report of Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

CAG in a report has said, “Based on the report of the committee of principals constituted in September 2014, the Planning Development and Monitoring Department approved an allotment of Rs 50 Crore under the PMDP for permanent restoration of damaged infrastructure of the Higher Education Department.”

“Under the project, 16 works were prioritized during 2016-17 for execution at a cost of Rs 50 Crore in seven Government Colleges. The works were to be completed within two years,” it reads.
