Awantipora: A military operation against militants has started in Nambal village of Awantipora hamlet in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, police said on Monday.
Officials said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of armed forces approached the suspected spot, the police said that militants fired upon them which were retaliated triggering the operation.
