7 militants, 3 armed forces personnel killed in 5 military Ops in Kashmir in Feb

Srinagar: Kashmir valley witnessed military operations in February month and in these five operations seven militants were killed.

As per the data available, Shopian witnessed three operations while Srinagar and Pulwama witnessed one operation each, however, the rest seven districts witnessed zero military operations against militants in February.

Among seven militants killed in February, six belong to LeT/TRF while one was affiliated with Hizb besides that three armed forces personnel including a Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir Police were killed in February month in Kashmir.

On February 02, Hizb militant identified as Umar Ishfaq Malik@Musa son of Abdul Ahad Malik, a resident of Bongam Shopian who was active since 2020 was killed in Nadigam Shopian during the military operation.

On February 05, two TRF militants identified as Ikhlaq Hajam of Kulgam and Adil from Pulwama district were killed in Zakoora area of Srinagar.

On February 07, LeT militant namely Irfan Ahmed Sheikh, son of Abdur Rashid Sheikh, a resident of Karimabad, Pulwama was killed in a chance operation in Nambal Awantipora area of Pulwama district.

On February 19, LeT militant Abdul Qayoom Dar from Larve Kakapora Pulwama and two armed forces personnel Santosh Yaadev and Romit Chauhan of the first RR were killed in Chermarg village of Zainapora subdivision in Shopian district.

On February 25, two Let militants namely Muzamil Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Hameed Mir, a resident of Chatripora, Shopian and Shariq Ayoob, son of Mohd Ayoob Wagay, a resident of Bonpora, Amshipora, Shopian and house owner (civilian) namely Shakeel Ahmed khan, son of Abdul Rahim Khan of Amshipora were killed in a military operation in Amshipora Shopian.

On February 11, Special Police Officer (SPO) of JK Police  namely Zubair Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Rasheed Shah, a resident of Papchan, Bandipora while as four BSF personnel were injured in a militant attack near Nishat park in Bandipora

Pertinently, the month of January witnessed 12 military operations in which 21 militants, most of them belonging to Jaish-e-Mohammad were killed besides two cops were also killed in the same month.
