‘Militancy related incidents down from 417 in 2018 to 229 in 2021

Jammu: The Home Minister of India and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah reviewed the situation in Jammu and Kashmir as he was in Jammu today with Lieutenant Governor of JK, Manoj Sinha and senior officers of the Government of India and the JK administration.

Shah appreciated the improvement in the situation, reduction in militant incidents from 417 in 2018 to 229 in 2021, and decrease in the number of forces personnel killing from 91 in 2018 to 42 in 2021.

Amit Shah emphasized proactive operations against militants and denied them safe haven or financial support. He directed the armed forces and police to ensure real-time coordination for effective counter-militancy operations and monitoring activities of militants from jails. He ordered further strengthening of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Jammu and Kashmir to choke narco militancy.

Shah said the forces should be further strengthened to ensure zero cross-border infiltration and to eliminate militancy completely in order to achieve Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi’s vision of a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
