AAP says ‘saffron party wants to kill Delhi CM after its defeat in Punjab elections’

‘Eight arrested so far’

New Delhi: Protesters led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Tejasvi Surya vandalized property at Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s house and clashed with the police demonstrating against the AAP leader’s comments on the movie The Kashmir Files.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) party hit back saying the saffron party wants to kill Kejriwal after its defeat in the Punjab assembly elections.

The BJP workers, led by MP Tejasvi Surya, held a demonstration in front of CM Arvind Kejriwal’s residence for his statement related to Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial. Kejriwal, in his speech at the Delhi Assembly, had lashed out at the BJP for promoting The Kashmir Files.

Condemning the attack, Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said, “Today, in the presence of Delhi Police, with the Delhi Police, BJP goons reached CM Arvind Kejriwal’s house. CCTVs were broken around CM’s house, security barrier was broken around CM’s house, and all this was carried out by the BJP goons in the presence of Delhi Police.”

He alleged, “It was clearly seen that it was a well-thought conspiracy to attack Arvind Kejriwal. Because the BJP is unable to beat Arvind Kejriwal in polls, they want to finish Arvind Kejriwal.”

“BJP wants to get Arvind Kejriwal get killed,” Manish Sisodia said on Wednesday.

Another AAP politician, Saurabh Bharadwaj, also claimed that the BJP is trying to “assassinate” CM Arvind Kejriwal.

Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged, “In the past also, BJP has done attacks on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, now BJP is trying to assassinate him. BJP is trying to get Kejriwal ji killed on any pretext.”

“The government of India is so terrified of the (AAP’s) victory in Punjab that they are getting together with the Delhi Police to attack the elected Chief Minister,” Saurabh Bharadwaj said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Delhi Police said that they have arrested eight persons in a case of vandalism.
