LeT militant associate arrested in Baramulla, arms and ammo recovered: Police

Baramulla: Police on late Friday evening claimed to have arrested a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant associate in Authoora Bala, Kreeri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

A senior police officer said that acting on specific input about the movement of militants in Kreeri area, one LeT militant associate was apprehended along with arms and ammunition at Authoora Bala Bridge by joint team of Police, Army’s 52RR and 2nd BN of SSB.

He has been identified as Mohd Saleem Khan, son of Ghulam Hassan Khan resident of Shrakwara Kreeri. Upon his personal search one pistol, one Magazine and 5 rounds of pistol were recovered, the officer said.

A case has been registered under the relevant section of Arms and UA (P) Act in this regard, the officer added.
