IED found on Baramulla-Srinagar highway, defused

Sopore: Armed forces on Saturday found an improvised explosive device (IED), planted on the roadside along Baramulla—Srinagar highway in Putkha area of Baramulla district.

The IED was defused hours after the bomb disposal squad (BDS) along with other armed forces personnel reached on spot.

Earlier, officials said that the armed forces detected the explosive device lying by the roadside following which the bomb disposal squad (BDS) was called in.

The officer said that following the detection of the suspected IED, traffic on Baramulla—Srinagar highway was from both sides as a precautionary measure.
