Shopian: An unidentified militant has been killed during an ongoing military operation in Heff Shirmal area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district, police said.
An official said that one militant has been killed in an ongoing operation, however, the identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
The operation started after a joint team of police, Army and CRPF received information about the presence of militants in the area.
Officials said as the joint team of armed forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them triggering the operation.
He said during the exchange of fire, one militant has been killed and the operation against militants is on in the area.
Meanwhile, police on its official Twitter handle wrote: “01 terrorist killed. Operation in progress. Further details shall follow”.
