Pulwama: A man was arrested for allegedly raping his two minor daughters in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday, police officials told Free Press Kashmir. In another incident, a school principal was arrested for allegedly raping two of his minor students in Kakapora area of the district.
The police official said a 40-year-old man was arrested allegedly for raping his 10 and 14 years old daughters in Pulwama. A First Information Report has been registered in Police Station Litter Pulwama in this regard.
The complaint was registered after the mother of the minors reported at the police station stating that two of his minor daughters were being sexually assaulted by their father. Following the complaint, police arrested the accused and further investigations were taken up, the official told FPK.
In another case, the official said a school principal was arrested for raping two of his minor students in Kakapora area of Pulwama. The complaint was registered after the mother of the minors- students in seventh and eighth class- approached the police.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Pulwama, Gulam Jeelani told FPK that both the accused were arrested after complaints were filed against them.
SSP added that medical examinations of the victims have been conducted and an investigation has been set into motion under relevant sections of law.
Meanwhile, the locals of the area have sought strict punishment against the culprits and camera surveillance in and around the schools so that no such incidents are witnessed in the future.
