The government of Canada has advised its citizens to avoid traveling to Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gujarat, Punjab, and Rajasthan citing security situations in the mentioned areas near the Line of Control, the border between India and Pakistan.

In an advisory issued on September 27, the Canadian government cited the ‘presence of landmines’ in the region along with ‘unexploded devices’ for the states of Gujarat, Punjab, and Rajasthan which border Pakistan.

“Avoid all travel to areas within 10 km of the border with Pakistan in the following states due to the unpredictable security situation and presence of landmines and unexploded ordnance: Gujarat, Punjab Rajasthan,” the advisory reads, according to News 18.
