Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (ﷺ): Traffic advisory issued, commuters asked to follow route plan

Srinagar: On the eve of Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (ﷺ), the authorities have issued a traffic advisory, asking people to follow the route plan in order to ensure the devotees will not face hardships.

According to an advisory issued by the traffic department, a large number of devotees are expected to assemble at Asari Sharief Hazratbal for the celebrations of Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (ﷺ) and Friday following on 14th October 2022.

“Traffic Police has made elaborate traffic arrangements for smooth flow of traffic coming from different districts of Valley carrying devotees to the Holy Shrine at Hazratbal,” it said.

Following routes have been earmarked for the traffic coming from both north and south of Kashmir valley including central Districts,” reads the order copy.

In order to ensure smooth regulation of traffic following route plans are hereby devised for the convenience of the general public for 8, 9, and 14 (Friday Following) October 2022.

The route plan for vehicles carrying devotees from north Kashmir after reaching Shalteng has been advised to follow the route plan from Shalteng – Parimpora – Qamarwari — cement bridge – Noorbagh – Sekidafar — Eidgah — ali masjid — sazgaripora — hawal – alamgar1 bazar – mill stop – molvi stop (lal bazar) – botshah mohallah — kanitar – university parking (saderbal side) to reach Hazratbal shrine.

“vehicles carrying devotes coming from south Kashmir after reaching Pantha chowk shall adopt the route plan as panthachowk – stone quarry (athawajan) — batwara – sonwar bazar ram munshi bagh- gupkar – grand palace — zethiyar ghat — nishat – foreshore road — habak crossing — university parking (naseem bagh side) to reach hazratbal, shrine”, reads the advisory.

The advisory reads that vehicles carrying devotees coming from Budgam and adjoining areas shall adopt the route from Hyderpora — tengpora — bemina bypass — bemina crossing — qamarwari — cement bridge – noorbagh — sekidafar eidgah — ali masjid — sazgaripora — hawal – alamgari bazar – mill stop – molvi stop (lal bazar) – botshah mohallah — kanitar — university parking (saderbal side).

From Lal chowk traffic authorities have planned route plan from – srtc crossing – ikhwan chowk – khanyar chowk- bhori kadal – rajouri kadal — gojwari chowk – hawal — alamgari bazar — mill stop – molvi stop (lal bazar) — botshah mohallah — kanitar — university parking (saderbal side).

Devotes coming from Ganderbal have been advised to follow the route plan from nagbal — zakoora — habak — naseem bagh parking to reach hazratbal, shrine.

The advisory has also framed the return routes for the vehicles carrying devotees, and for northbound vehicles, on return from Hazratbal shrine it has advised route plan from university parking (saderbal side) — ashai bagh crossing — rainawari — khanyar – nowpora — dalgate — MA road — budshah bridge — Jehangir chowk flyover — batmaloo —mominabad— tengpora – bemina bypass — parimpora – shalteng — and onwards.

South Kashmir-bound vehicles on return from hazratbal shrine have been advised to follow route plan from Naseem bagh parking — habak crossing — foreshore road — nishat — zethiyar ghat — gupkar — ram munshibagh — sonwar bazar – panthachowk – onwards.

Vehicles bound for central Kashmir areas on return from Hazratbal shrine have been advised to follow the route plan from nit — ashai bagh crossing — rainawari — khanyar – nowpora — dalgate – golf crossing — radio Kashmir — abdullah bridge – hatric — convent crossing — p/s ra bagh — jawharnagar chowk — jawharnagar bund — rambagh — barzullah bridoe — sadder crossing — hyderpora — onwards.

For devotees returning to Ganderbal traffic, authorities have advised a route plan from Naseem bagh parking – habak — zakoora — nagbal and onwards.

Devotees returning to Lal chowk, traffic authorities have advised the route plan from NIT parking — ashai bagh crossing — Rainawari — khanyar – nowpora bridge — khayam chowk — dalgate — MA road — lalchowk.

Sharing the parking plan, the traffic authorities in the advisory have said that elaborate parking arrangements have been made at available locations around the Hazratbal and for vehicles from north /central Kashmir arrangements have been made inside the university campus through sir Syed gate (saderbal side).

For vehicles from south Kashmir including Ganderbal, parking arrangements have been made inside Naseem bagh university campus through budshah gate (habbak side}.

For vehicles moving from Rainawari Khanyar towards Hazratbal shrine parking arrangements have been made at nit and has also placed a traffic camp at Hazratbal for VIP parking, an area earmarked for official vehicles.
