Indian intelligence agencies warn of attacks on non-locals, politicians, ex-servicemen in JK: Report

Srinagar: An alert has been sounded by intelligence agencies of India in Jammu and warned of attacks on locals, politicians, and ex-servicemen by Lashkar militants.

A report by India Today quoting intelligence report said that armed forces have tracked the movement of a local militant and two Pakistani LeT militants in the Baramulla area of Jammu and Kashmir.

The report said targets of these militants are political leaders and people living outside Jammu and Kashmir along with ex-servicemen.

The intelligence units have said hand grenades or IEDs might be used for the attacks, India Today said.

Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh was quoted saying that militant organisations Resistance Front (TRF), a LeT outfit, issues threats from time to time.

“The latest threat, which has been in circulation since yesterday, mentions that the police should be targeted on a large scale, along with people who are involved in different positive activities with the government,” he was quoted further saying.
