Sopore: Citing “security reasons”, a Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch in Achabal Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district has prohibited the entry of people wearing Pherans.

In a circular, pasted inside the bank, the authorities have banned entry with Pherans. “Persons with Pheran are not allowed to enter inside the office/hall. For security reasons,” reads the order.

However, the bank authorities have denied issuing of any such order and said the unit has not released it.

Pertinently, the poster has gone viral on social media sites drawing flak from users.
