11,600 kanal ‘state land’ retrieved across Ganderbal, says DC

Ganderbal: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir a joint team of Revenue and Police department led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah on Thursday retrieved 718 kanals of ‘State and Kahcharai land’ in various tehsils of the district.

During the ongoing drive, the district administration has ‘retrieved 11600 kanals of State and Kahcharai land’ across the district as of the date which the administration said can be used for “community purposes”.

While giving details about the drives, the DC said the drive will continue and no one will be spared. He said all the “illegal encroachments on the State, as well as Kahcharai land”, will be removed.

The district administration has given strict directions to the tehsildars and enforcement teams to speed up the drive in their respective jurisdictions with added zeal and dedication so that all the State and Kahcharai land is retrieved in the district.

The DC has also warned of action under relevant laws in matters of “encroachment on State and Kahcharai land”.
