Cop booked for renting out house to Govt teacher ‘involved in Narwal Jammu blasts case’
Jammu: An FIR has been registered against a Jammu and Kashmir Police Sub-Inspector for renting out a house to a government school teacher, who was recently arrested for allegedly being involved on January 21 Narwal Jammu blasts case.
The house is located in Sunjawan’s Peerbagh Colony on the outskirts of Jammu city, reported The Indian Express.
The cop, Mohammad Haneef, posted in Kashmir, has been booked on charges of not verifying the now arrested school teacher Arif Sheikh’s antecedents with the local police, newspaper The Indian Express quoted a senior police officer as having said.
Earlier on Thursday, Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have arrested a government employee involved in January 21 Narwal Jammu blasts case.
Addressing a press conference in Jammu, Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh had said that one Arif Ahmed, a resident of Reasi district of Jammu was arrested in the case of Narwal blasts.
“Arif is a government employee and was working at the behest of Qasim, a Reasi resident and his uncle Qamardin, also a Reasi resident, presently in Pakistan, who are part of LeT,” the DGP had said.
He claimed that Arif was involved in three IED blast incidents— Shahstri Nagar, Katra and the January 21 incident in Narwal, Jammu.
