Bajrang Dal goons enter Muslim man’s house to stop Taraweeh prayers in Moradabad

Police on the spot after Bajrang Dal goons stopped Taraweeh prayers at Muslim man's home in Moradabad.

Moradabad: The goons of Hindu right-wing Rashtriya Bajrang Dal on Saturday entered a Muslim man’s house and stopped Taraweeh prayers in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad area.

The Hindutva group led by Rohan Saxena stormed into the godown of  Zakir Hussain in Lajpat Nagar, near the Katghar police station. They made the Muslim men stop the prayer and caused a commotion. A police party was also on the sport; however, they did not take any action.

Later, when talking to the media, Saxena stated that “new paramparas (traditions) will not be permitted” in the city.

“We learned that Zakir is starting a new tradition by praying with his Muslim brothers.” “We vehemently oppose this and will not allow such a tradition to flourish in our city or state,” Saxena told reporters, as per Siasat news.

The Hindutva men claimed that they got information from their neighbours that the praying is going on and they have photographs as proof.

However, social media users have expressed anger over the Hindutva goons’ hooliganism.

“Muslims in Moradabad, UP, India, were offering namaz inside their house and the Hindu supremacists with the police stopped the namaz. Where will Muslims pray in India if they can’t do that inside their houses?,” Ashok Swain tweeted.

Journalist Shadab Moizee tweeted, “Kis law me likha hai Namaz ghar par jama ho kar ni padh sakte? Taraweeh k liye police se permission kab se lene ka niyam ban gaya? Apne gharon me namaz/pooja karne se kisi dusre ko takleef h to wo usk soch ki dikkat hai, pooja karne wale ki ni.”
