Jammu: Five armed forces personnel were killed after an army vehicle caught fire when lightning struck it in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, according to the defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand.
Initial reports suggested that a lightning strike may have caused the blaze in the truck at Bhata Dhurian in Mendhar sub-division amidst heavy rains in the hilly area.
The incident occurred while the vehicle was moving from Bhimber Gali to Sangiot in Poonch. They said that the vehicle caught fire, resulting in on spot death of five armed forces personnel.
