Kolkata: A Kashmiri student hailing from Yarikhah Khansahab village of Budgam district was found dead at a college hostel in Kolkata city of West Bengal.
The victim identified as Muhammad Umar Ganai, son of Bashir Ahmed was studying engineering at the Budge Budge Institute of Technology (BBIT) College.
He was found dead on Friday and family was informed on the same day.
However, the cause of the death is not known yet.
The family is in shock due to the sudden incident and has reached out to the association for assistance in bringing the body back home, Jammu and Kashmir Students Association convenor Nasir Khuehami told Free Press Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the association has expressed disappointment towards what it called “rude behavior and display of arrogance” allegedly by TMC National Spokesperson Saket Gokhale in responding to a request for intervention regarding the deceased student.
