‘Cancel admission of students involved in drug-related activities’

Srinagar: The authorities in Kupwara district have asked the parents of those wards seeking admission in government schools to submit an affidavit that their wards area not involved in any drug related activities.

According to a circular, a copy of which lies with the news agency Kashmir News Observer, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kupwara warned that the concerned authorities will cancel admission of such students if found involved in any sort of drug related activities.

“Since the admission process has been started for classes 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th standard, the HOls of HS and HSS are directed to get an affidavit from the parents to the effect that ‘their ward is not involved in any drug related activities,” the CEO said in a circular.

It also said, “In case the student is found in any type of such activity, the admission of the student will be cancelled ab initio.”
