Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday arrested a person at Botakadal area of Srinagar for murdering his mother-in-law.
A police official said that police post Lal Bazar received an information that a woman identified as Saleema, wife of Late Muhammad Qasim, a resident of Gulshan Bagh, Botakadal was assaulted by her son-in-law, resulting in her on the spot death.
“The accused has been identified as Shabir Ahmed Bhat, son of Abdul Salaam Bhat, a resident of Pattan area of Baramulla. Bhat had married Saleema’s daughter and was living at his in-laws house for some time,” the official said.
