Militant attempts to cross LoC in Kupwara, killed: Police

Kupwara: Jammu and Kashmir police on Sunday claimed to have killed a militant after he attempted to cross the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdhar sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Kashmir Zone Police in a Tweet informed that Army and Kupwara police had jointly launched an operation in Amrohi area of Tangdhar near the LoC.

Police said during the operation one militant was killed as he tried to cross the border.

“Army & Kupwara police in a joint operation foiled an infilitration bid by neutralising a terrorist on LoC in Amrohi area of Tangdhar Sector. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition recovered. Search operation in progress. Further details shall follow, (sic)” police tweeted.
