Man succumbs 3 days after being injured by bear in Handwara

Srinagar: A 59-year-old man injured in a bear attack in Drangsoo Mawar area in north Kashmir’s Handwara has succumbed to his injuries at Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura, Srinagar, officials said.

They told Global News Service that a man identifed as Ghulam Mohuidin Malik, son of Ghulam Hassan Malik, was left with critical injuries after attacked by a black bear, while he was working in his orchard last Sunday.

Malik, they said, was evacuated to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara from where he was referred to SKIMS for preferential treatment.
