‘I am on path of Ambedkar, Periyar’, says Udhayanidhi as Hindu priest announces bounty on his head

Chennai: Tamil Nadu minister and DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin has responded to a Hindu priest from Ayodhya who offered a reward of Rs 10 crore for his head.

Udhayanidhi, who has faced criticism from Hindutva circles for his comments against Sanatana Dharma, questioned the seer’s fascination with his head, saying, “Why do you have such an interest in my head?”

The seer, Paramhans Acharya, released a video in which he held a poster of Udhayanidhi in one hand and a sword in the other, symbolically depicting the beheading of the DMK leader. He also set the poster on fire and announced a bounty of Rs 10 crore for anyone who beheads Udhayanidhi.

Udhayanidhi responded by asking whether the seer was a genuine saint or an impostor and questioned the source of the money for the reward. He humorously remarked, “Why are you offering Rs 10 crore to comb my hair? I can do that myself if you give me a Rs 10 comb.”

Despite the controversy, Udhayanidhi remained steadfast in his stance against Sanatana Dharma, asserting that his comments had generated significant discussion not only in Tamil Nadu but across India. He explained that he had called for the eradication of Sanatana Dharma, comparing it to the eradication of diseases like malaria, dengue, cholera, and COVID.

Udhayanidhi Stalin also drew a parallel with a similar situation involving Karunanidhi, where a saint had offered a reward of one crore rupees for his beheading. Karunanidhi had responded by saying that even with 100 crores, he couldn’t comb his hair. Udhayanidhi expressed his alignment with the paths of Karunanidhi and Ambedkar, along with the ideologies of Periyar, Anbazhagan, and his leader, Stalin, in their ongoing efforts to challenge and eradicate Sanatan Dharma.
