Jalandhar: In a tragic incident in Kanpur village, Jalandhar district, three sisters were found dead inside a trunk in their own home.

The distressing discovery was made after the girls’ parents reported them missing on Sunday night when they didn’t find them at home as parents were return home from work.

The family of the migrant labourer had five children, said police. The sisters were identified as Kanchan, 4, Shakti, 7, and Amrita, 9, they said.

Authorities promptly initiated a post-mortem examination on all three bodies to determine the cause of their untimely demise.

The shocking revelation occurred as the girls’ father was in the process of moving household items on Monday. He noticed that the trunk was unusually heavy and, upon opening it, tragically found his three daughters inside.

Police officials have disclosed that the father had recently faced pressure from his landlord to vacate the house due to his drinking habit. An investigation into this heartbreaking incident has been launched to uncover the circumstances surrounding the sisters’ deaths.
