Four houses damaged in separate fire incidents in Kupwara, say officials

Kupwara: Four residential houses were damaged in separate fire incidents in Lolab area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, reports and officials said on Monday.

The fire broke out from a residential house belonging to Mohammad Aarif Mir, son of Late Haji Mohi Ud Din Mir, a resident of Machil, currently residing in Badd Gagal and another house belonging to Lal Din Chard, son of Deen Mohammad, reducing both the structures to ashes, news agency Global News Service reported.

Another house was also damaged in the incident. The fire was brought under control after intervention from the F&ES Department alongside army, police and locals.

Another incident has been reported from Shatmuqam Lolab, where a house belonging to Bashir Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Salaam Shah caught flames and soon after led to complete damage of the structure.

Officials confirming the incidents told GNS that that the cause of fire was being ascertained.
