MMU led by Mirwaiz condemns bombing on Gaza hospital, calls for end to Palestinian sufferings

Srinagar: Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU), the largest amalgam of religious, social and educational organisations of Jammu and Kashmir led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has condemned the attack on Gaza hospital that killed over 500 Palestinians on Tuesday.

In a joint statement, issued to the news agency Kashmir News Observer, MMU expressed shock and outrage and said the people of JK are deeply saddened and pained by this unfolding tragedy and stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine.

The statement reads that it is a blatant war crime under United Nations Charter and the Geneva Conventions, and the people of Palestine are being collectively punished by Israel and all their human rights have been snatched from them.

MMU urged the UN and world powers to move beyond blame game and partisanship, and see what is happening in Gaza for what it is humanitarian crisis.

It urged them to ensure that the war against hapless Palestinian citizens is stopped and a resolution to this long term conflict is immediately sought.

It also urged the muslim countries to unite and stand with the Palestinian people and ensure they get justice.
