BSF personnel killed along IB in Samba, say officials

Jammu: A personnel of Border Security Force (BSF) was killed along the border in Sambba district of Jammu region after armies of both India and Pakistan exchange fire, officials said on Thursday.

“At about 12.20 am, Pakistan Rangers started firing at Narayanpur post in Ramgarh Samba. BSF also retaliated and the firing between the two sides continued for some time,” officials said.

A Head Constable with BSF namely Lal Farnn Kima was injured and immediately shifted to Community Health Centre Hospital at Ramgarh. After initial treatment, they said, the injured BSF personnel was referred to GMC hospital Jammu for advanced treatment. However, Kima succumbed to the injuries on way to the GMC, they added.

When contacted, Additional SP Samba Surinder Choudhary confirmed to news agency Global News Service the killing of the personnel.
