South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has strongly denounced Israel, declaring their actions in Gaza as a “deliberate denial of medicine, fuel, food, and water,” equating it to genocide.

President Ramaphosa’s words come as a powerful condemnation of Israel’s conduct in the region.

Since October 7, when Hamas responded to occupational crimes, Israel’s relentless bombardment in Palestine has claimed the lives of over 13,000 people, with a disturbing majority being children and women.

The conflict has sparked international outrage, with numerous countries urging a ceasefire to prevent further loss of innocent lives.

Despite widespread calls for de-escalation and a cessation of hostilities, Israel has continued its military campaign, disregarding the appeals made by various nations.

The persistent violence in Palestine has intensified concerns about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with President Ramaphosa’s characterisation of Israel’s actions as genocidal adding significant weight to the global discourse surrounding the conflict.

The international community continues to grapple with finding a diplomatic resolution to end the bloodshed and bring about lasting peace in the region.
