19-year-old Kashmiri bags 4 international scholarships

Budgam: A 19-year-old girl from Khansahib area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district has achieved a remarkable feat by securing selection in four prestigious scholarship programmes abroad.

Syed Sehar Bukhari, daughter of Abdul Majeed Bukhari and a class 12th student, expressed her gratitude for the counselling she received from school authorities and teachers. She credited two years of dedicated effort for her success in securing selection in four international scholarships.

Sehar has been selected for the Menlo College Scholarship, Cedar Crest College Scholarship, OGLETHORPE Scholarship and Monmouth College Scholarship, all of which provide full financial support for the entirety of her studies.

Bukhari highlighted her parents’ unwavering encouragement and acknowledged their “heroic role” in providing every necessary facility. “Among the four scholarships, I will try to choose a suitable one for me as I want to pursue my career in Economics or International Relations,” she said.

Sehar said her father, who runs a departmental store in Khansahib, played a pivotal role in supporting her aspirations.
