Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has announced half-day public holiday on Monday in view of the consecration ceremony of Ram Temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.
According to an order, the administration said that half-day holiday will be observed till 2.30pm today in Jammu and Kashmir.
Notably, consecration ceremony for Ram Temple will take place in Ayodhya today.
Earlier, the government of India India granted half-day leave for its staff to celebrate the consecration ceremony on January 22.
In an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, the department said, “The Ram Lalla Pran Prathishtha at Ayodhya will be celebrated on January 22, across India. To enable employees to participate in the celebrations, it has been decided that all central government offices, central institutions and central industrial establishments throughout India will be closed for half day till 14.30 hrs on January 22.”
The pran pratishtha ceremony of the new idol of Ram Lalla at the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple is scheduled for Monday.
The ceremony is set to be performed by Narendra Modi.
