Suspected drone intercepted along LoC in Poonch, forced to return: Army

Poonch: Army on Friday intercepted a drone from Pakistan along Line of Control in Baloni area in KG Sector of Mankote and forced it to return by firing at it, officials said.

They told GNS at around 7:10 hours, personnel of Indian Army deployed at the sector said that a Pak drone was seen coming near one of the army post in Mankote Mendhar area.

“After seeing the suspected drone, Army fired a few rounds forcing the drone to return back,” they said, adding, “Further details are awaited.”

Earlier this week, officials said that Indian Army personnel fired a couple of shots at a Pakistani drone near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district. The drone, however, returned to the Pakistan side after briefly hovering over the Indian territory late Sunday night, the officials said.

They said the movement of the enemy drone was picked up in the Nar Mankote area of Mendhar and the troops guarding the LoC fired at least three rounds to bring it down.
