Rajouri: In Rajouri, a government school teacher has been accused of severely beating a third-grade boy and causing injury to his ear in the Kotranka area.

According to official sources, the incident occurred last Friday at the Government Middle School Sada in the Kotranka Educational Zone. The acting headmaster of the school was engaged in official duties when the 8-year-old boy went to use the restroom.

Upon the boy’s return, amidst noise from other students, the enraged acting headmaster reportedly subjected the boy to severe physical punishment, including hitting him on the ear.

The boy’s ear began bleeding profusely, resulting in a deep wound. The teacher, realising the severity of the situation, took the boy to a nearby medical shop for bandaging and then sent him home without informing the family of the incident. When the bleeding persisted, the parents took the child to Kotranka Hospital, where initial treatment was provided before he was referred to GMC Rajouri due to the seriousness of the ear injury.

Upon learning the details from their son and other students, the parents filed FIR No. 49/2024 at Kotranka Police Station against the acting headmaster, identified as Mohd Shabir. The police attempted to arrest the teacher at his residence, but he evaded capture, according to a police official.
