New Delhi: Slogans calling for a boycott of the Lok Sabha elections were discovered on several walls around the Delhi University campus on Thursday, according to the police, who have filed two FIRs regarding the matter.

The slogans, such as “Ek hi raasta Naxalbari,” were attributed to the Bhagat Singh Chhatra Ekta Manch (BSCEM), a self-described youth organization that posted photos of the slogans on its Instagram page on Thursday.

The caption on the post read, “In light of the fascist offensive, we must recall Mao Zedong’s thesis that one of the key tools for a successful revolution is a united front. In Marxist terms, a united front is a broad coalition of various classes united by a common minimum program. In a country like India, which is moving towards a democratic revolution, there is significant potential for such unity.”

The post continued, “Unity can be formed around various goals, from democratic transformation of society to revolutionary objectives. Currently, the country is like a boiling cauldron with numerous social forces opposing the state’s war on people for corporate gain, including movements in Kashmir, Manipur, Assam, Nagaland, and more.”

The police reported that they noticed some slogans on campus during their morning patrol on Thursday.

“Accordingly, two FIRs under the Defacement Act have been registered, and an investigation has been initiated,” stated DDCP (North), Manoj Kumar Meena.
