Militant killed in ongoing military Op along LoC in Uri, say officials

Uri: A militant has been killed in the ongoing military operation in Uri sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said here on Sunday.

Officials said that operation started on Saturday when armed forces launched a search operation in Bajrang-Uri sector following specific information about the presence of some infiltrating militants.

Hiding militants opened fire on the armed forces personnel, who retaliated, thereby triggering the operation, they said.

Meanwhile, the Army’s Chinar Corps, in a post on ‘X’, said: “One terrorist has been killed in the ongoing anti-infiltration Operation that was launched on 22 Jun in the Uri Sector; Operations are continuing”

It’s pertinent to mention that, a top categorised militant, Usman among two Lashkar-e-Taiba militants were killed on June 19, while two army personnel were injured in an operation that broke out in Sopore sub-division of the Baramulla district. (KNO)
